How does stress affect the body?
When under stress, the fight, flight or freeze response reacts. Hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol kick in. Breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure increase. It takes 20-60 minutes to recover.
How do we manage stress reactions?
Gaining insight into our reactivity and learning how to use various techniques such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness and reframing negative thoughts.
